Nothing's As Cheap as a Dream

Title says it all.
Nothing’s As Cheap as a Dream

Johnny thinks that he’ll go far
Playing on his air guitar
Knows all the chords he practices every day
Now he’s going to learn some scales
He’ll give Mozart utter hell
He’s a living legend coming straight our way
He’ll be the rage in his heroic age
Just think of all the fat endorsement deals

He rules the skies when he closes his eyes
All he desires is there for free
Don’t blow his glow he doesn’t want to know
That nothing’s as cheap as a dream

Sadie’s ship is coming in
She’s drinking’ mama’s breakfast gin
And working on her timeless poetry
Iambic pentameter you know that stuff is not for her
She likes all her verses blank and free
She’ll be a sage in her heroic age
One day they’ll name streets after her

She rules the skies when she closes her eyes
All she desires is there for free
Don’t blow his glow he doesn’t want to know
That nothing’s as cheap as a dream

They rule the skies when they close their eyes
But one day the world will turn mean
Hard is the day when the scales fall away
And nothing remains of your dreams
Nothing remains of your dream
Sorry, sorry
Nothing’s as cheap as a dream
